If you want an effective way to communicate with hundreds, even thousands of people, look no further than a webinar. This modern tool enables you to present your ideas, products or services to tons of people all at the same time. All it takes is a few simple steps to plan out a webinar.
Step 1: Design a presentation with a strong call to action.
Whether you are using the webinar to sell condos or tell them you are the best dentist in town, every webinar should have a call to action. That “call to action” could be go to my web site and buy my product …or it could be pick up the phone and schedule an appointment, but the goal of every webinar is to get the webinar attendee to DO SOMETHING! Never forget this.
Create a powerpoint presentation that educates and engages your attendees. Tell them exactly what you want them to do and how to do it. This is the most fundamental rule of webinar planning.
Step 2: Pick a webinar hosting company.
Choose a webinar hosting company that accommodates your needs and your budget. There are quite a few to choose from. If you anticipate less than 1000 attendees and you plan on doing several webinars in a year, I suggest using GoToWebinar.
Step 3: Set up your webinar.
Once you have chosen a webinar host, you need to know how to set up your webinar. The webinar host will have a set up page that will ask you for a webinar title, description, date and a time. It will also ask you to set up any polls or surveys.
Polls are a great way to generate interaction with your attendees. A good poll question would be, “What is stopping you from achieving success in (your topic).” You would show four obstacles and allow them to choose the most important obstacle to them.
This is a great way to get your attendees to admit they have a problem that is not easily solved. And when you show the results of the poll live on the webinar, it is great social proof that they are not alone and that many also struggle with this problem. They are also in a better place to ask for help by purchasing your products or services!
Another great tool when setting up your webinar is the exit survey. Ask them if they enjoyed the webinar and what was their biggest take-away from the webinar. This is a great way to generate instant testimonials for your webinar replay or even your next webinar.
Also, ask them if they would recommend your product or service to their friends and family. If they answer “yes,” then pick up the phone and call them after the webinar because they have indicated they are a hot prospect and warrant a phone call!
Step 4: Create your own registration page.
After you set up your webinar, you need to invite your attendees. You can use the generic registration page that the webinar hosting company gives you, or you can create your own. I prefer to create my own so I can control the look and feel of the registration page. This also allows me to differentiate myself from all the other webinars out there.
Here’s a great tip: require FULL CONTACT information on your registration page. Then before the webinar begins, you can send them a reminder phone call. Afterwards you can follow up with your attendees because you will have their mailing address.
You can even get fancy and offer a slightly different offer for those who didn’t buy the first time!

There are a few webinar tools you will need to run a professional and effective webinar. Because the effectiveness of your webinar begins with the webinar set up.
The first webinar tool you need for creating your webinar is a webinar set up sheet. On this sheet you need to list:
- your webinar OBJECTIVE (sales, a phone appointment, education?)
- the TITLE of your webinar (This should describe the benefit of your webinar to your viewers.)
- what you plan to COVER on your webinar
- your STORY (This is “why” you are qualified to host your webinar.)
- CASE STUDIES (results of how you, or the people you have helped, have solved the “problem”)
- EDUCATION (This is when you can give them some of your best tips and tricks for their business.)
- ROAD BLOCKS to success (obstacles that will keep them from solving the problem)
- CALL TO ACTION (This is where you encourage them to act on what you’ve shown them. Go to your website, buy your product or service, or call for an appointment.)
Another webinar tool is a powerpoint template for your webinar ppt. Creating a webinar ppt is easy if you include these items:
-background graphic – Create or have someone else create an appealing, memorable graphic that communicates the message of your webinar. Use it as the background graphic on your master slide.
- your picture – Also on your master slide, use a professional-looking picture of yourself. Put it in the top left corner. Seeing a picture of your will help people remember you and your voice.
-bullet points that show up when you click your mouse – Go to the “custom animation” option and have each line on your presentation appear when you click your mouse in the master slide.
- call to action url – In the master view, add a url at the top so that the “call to action” is available on each slide. The call to action should lead to a web site where your audience can take an action (buy button, phone number to call, email option form, etc.)
Finally, to set up your webinar, you’ll need these tools:
- webinar hosting – A webinar hosting account lets you present your audio and video to hundreds of people at the same time. A few webinar hosting companies include: GoToWebinar, Manexa, Omnovia, Web Ex and Adobe Connect
-a web page for registration – Your webinar hosting company will likely provide you with a registration page, but I recommend creating your own. Remember to sell your webinar by showing your potential customers what is in it for them. This is known as being “benefit driven.”
-an autoresponder – Even after your viewers register, you will want to remind them of the coming webinar. Afterwards, you will definitely want to follow up with each one who attended.
So those are the essential webinar tools. Give them careful thought, set them up, and you will likely see HUGE results.

You will need to use your primary computer (pc or mac) to broadcast your webinar. This company will allow you to accommodate up to 1000 participants on a webinar which is much more than what other webinar services have to offer. Never try to do this in a hurry as it will prove to be quite expensive. If you plan to have more than one webinar in a month, then GoToWebinars is an excellent solution for this. The best part is that they allow you to be able to test yourself by having practice webinars.
If you are looking for a webinar service that will give you results and not headaches, then try recording with Camtasia. You will not have to worry about the strange files that other recording services have, and your webinar will be successful as opposed to recording and editing with other services.
With Camtasia you will be able to understand and record your webinar without any trouble that other services give. There are no crazy files for you to understand, and the best part is that your webinar will be a success. You cannot run the risk of something going wrong while you are recording, so get the best service available to get this done.
There are, however, a few things that you will need to know to prevent feedback and echo from getting in as you record webinars. You will need to get a cord with a 1/80 jack on each end from an electronic store. After you have this in hand, then you will need to plug one end into the microphone and another end into the headset. I recently discussed the four types of webinars. Model number two centers around offering a free webinar to promote your services. This is perfect if you are offering a difficult product for sale. This is the type of webinar where you are teaching your viewers things they do not know by taking an educational approach. It gives you a chance to offer your services if they do not want to deal with the problem themselves. The mortgage industry is an example of where this type of webinar will work perfectly.
Based on the mortgage example, a few helpful things to teach peoplei n your webinars would be to do their own taxes and probates. You may even teach them the signs and steps to take when choosing a qualified professional. At the end of teaching them all of this, you will then use it as an opportunity to offer your services. Since you have taught them about all that is involved in choosing a qualified professional, you must ensure that you meet the standards. You can present them with 10 things that they need to know when choosing a professional. You competitors may only meet 5 guidelines. However, you should ensure that you meet all 10.
These types of webinars can be used as a tool to teach people about the new regulations and rules that have been implemented. One topic that could yield lots of money for any tax attorney would be how to tackle your taxes. The tax attorney can use the beginning of each tax season to put in place the “How-to Webinar” that will teach people about new changes and rules in this sector. They will see all the bureaucracy that is involved, and then he will show how he may help them.
Industries that are service related have not tapped into the benefits that “How-to Webinars” can give. But this is one area that could really use webinars. Any service industry can be highlighted in webinars; the topics that could be covered include: pre-qualifying people, making sales, setting up appointments, etc.

Personally I like the whole concept behind a one-on-one consultation. I believe that it is necessary in some industries. However, the important thing here is pre-qualifying people and getting appointments with them. After a webinar, I will only be targeting those people who want to buy. From there I will set up my one-on-one appointments.
A non-profit organization can benefit from webinars. Potential donors will hear about them, and after the webinar is finished, they may even be inclined to make a donation through the website that the presentation will mention. When it comes to making money online, there are endless options that “How-to Webinars” can tap into.

A webinar can be a great way to promote your product or service. There are four major types of webinars, and each can be effective, depending on the goals for your webinar. Each webinar strategy is detailed below.
In the first webinar strategy, you present a free webinar that gives valuable information to your viewers. Provide information on a topic that viewers want to know about. This will attract them to your webinar. Once you have your captive audience, do not skimp on quality. Give them the content they have been seeking. By doing this, it will be easy to make the push for your goods or services at the end of your webinar. You have already given them something of value, so it will be easy for them to see how paying you for your product will bring even more value to their lives!
In the second webinar strategy, you sell your services for what may be an intimidating process. Take a complex topic and break it down to educate your viewers. Explain all the steps involved in achieving what they want or need. This will help them understand what they do and do not know about the process. At the end, you can then show how you will be able to make the procedure easier for them.
The third webinar strategy is to utilize your free presentation to sell a class or series of classes. Basically, the free webinar gives viewers a taste of your classes. By revealing just a portion of the desired knowledge, you can direct viewers to your full menu of courses.
The fourth webinar strategy involves showing your webinar to several groups of people. Although the content of each webinar is the same, the audience for each viewing is different. This allows you to promote your goods or services multiple times.
