A new online travel site embarked on its search engine optimisation or SEO marketing campaign. The owner is going into SEO only for the first time. Without knowledge on SEO concepts and strategies, he hired an SEO consultant.

After four months of setting up the SEO campaign, with the SEO consultant providing direction and the in-house people implementing the strategies, the website still did not yield any result. It was not landing on the third page of Google even, and the sale was next to zero even as analytics report thousands of visits to the site. Wanting results, the company owner went on to re-think his strategies and in the meantime, terminated the services of the SEO consultant.

An expert SEO consultant cannot do as much working singlehandedly, even with his high competency in search engine optimisation.

SEO is plain, and therefore must be kept simple amidst its dynamic strategies. Its objective is simple: to increase your website’s page rank in the major search engines so your consumers can easily see you when they search for products or services which you offer. It is reported that Google, Yahoo and Bing altogether get one billion visits in overnight.

SEO is only dynamic because it implements a variety of strategies related to each other.

In the case above, why did the SEO consultant fail to deliver the company’s desired page rank? It is simply because SEO needs a team, usually composed of good article writers, bloggers, link builders, and social media specialists. One proficient SEO person working with inexperienced personnel will just not make it.

True SEO results can be achieved by paying the services of an SEO company, which already has a well-trained complement of writers, bloggers, and everyone in the SEO team. The result is one cohesive action, done by experts, for the client’s website to get the first rank on the first page for a most-searched keyword–in days, not months.

SEO can indeed bring in leads, and real sales, faster than any other traditional marketing campaigns. For this to happen, SEO has to be done right. Otherwise, efforts and resources will be for naught.
